Lisa Jean Boughton Martin

Lisa Jean Boughton Martin, 66, of Kountze, died Tuesday, June 28, 2022. She was born on February 9, 1956, to Evelyn Frances Michaels Boughton and James Kenneth Boughton, in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Lisa retired as a math teacher after teaching many years which included Hamshire-Fannett, Woolforth, Midland, and Dickinson. She enjoyed decorating, hosting family get togethers, sitting on the front porch and drinking coffee, and watching soap operas. Lisa will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and Gram.

Survivors include her husband of over 39 years, Gary G. Martin; sons, James Alan Black and his wife, Marilyn, of Kountze and Michael Glenn Martin and his wife, Jennifer, of The Woodlands; daughter, Melinda Martin Newsom and her husband, Jed, of Galveston; sister, Susan Allen and her husband, Tommy, of Rockport; brother, Steven Boughton of Forney; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Evelyn Frances Boughton of Rockport; and brother-in-law, Donald Dean Martin of Texas City.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Kenneth Boughton and brother, Jeffery Boughton.

A gathering of Mrs. Martin’s family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Broussard’s. Her cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
