Mark Corley

September 5, 1962 - March 15, 2023

Mark Corley, 60, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born September 5, 1962, in Beaumont, to Carol Roberts and Gerald Corley.

In his younger years, Mark worked at Market Basket as a butcher where he was known as the employee who chased a man down Lucas for trying to steal steaks. He then worked for Frito Lay for many years where he distributed chips around SETX making friends at every stop.

Mark and Rayette met two-stepping around the dance floor and spent their early years dancing the nights away to their favorite country music. He then raised his daughters on nothing but good ole’ country music, specifically George and Alan.

Mark loved fishing, being outdoors, and watching the Texas Longhorns. You could find him loving on his dogs, Sophie, Mags & Lucy, or playing with his granddaughter, Hazel, where he was known as ‘Pop’. Mark loved his family and had more friends than anyone could count.

Mark will be remembered as a loving ‘Pop’, husband, father, and friend.

Mark is survived by his wife, Rayette Corley; daughters, Haley Odom and her husband, Travis; Destin Corley; father, Gerald Corley and his wife, Mickey, all of Lumberton; half-brother, Craig Corley and his wife, Janie, of Kirbyville; half-sister, Tammy Corley Huff and her husband, Michael, of Nederland; and grandchildren, Hazel Odom and Rose Odom, both of Lumberton.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Roberts; his cousin, Trae Aulds; uncle, Bobby Corley; and grandmother, Foyce Corley Duhon.

A gathering of Mr. Corley’s family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with his memorial service at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
