Lewis “Taco” Joseph Rodriguez, Sr.

Lewis “Taco” Joseph Rodriguez, Sr., 63, passed away at 9:53 a.m., May 26, 2023. He was born on July 12, 1959, in Winshire, Texas to Secundino Rodriguez and Rachel Rodriguez.

Mr. Rodriguez graduated from Hamshire Fannett High School in 1977 and started working in the oil fields in 1978. He worked as a casing hand and then operations manager in 1996 until 2012. He moved to Elk City, Oklahoma to be operations manager for Byrd Oilfield Services. Lewis made his home in Leedey, Oklahoma and returned to Texas in February of 2023.

Survivors include wife, Julie Rodriguez; sons, Lewis Joseph Rodriguez, Jr. and his fiancé, Sandra McAndrew; Robert James Rodriguez and his wife, Becky Rodriguez; Jacob Allen Schleich; daughters, Dena Marie Rodriguez and her fiancé, Matthew Herrin; and Danielle Alynn Medley and her husband, Jon Medley; ten grandchildren; brother, Johnny Rodriguez and his wife, Pauline; sister, Dolores LeDoux and her husband, Ronnie; adopted brother, John Odom; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Secundino and Rachel Rodriguez; first wife, Tina Louise Rodriguez; and grandson, Heigan Rodriguez.

A gathering of Mr. Rodriguez’s family and friends will be, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2023, at Broussard’s, 134 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 Buccaneer Dr, Winnie, with his internment to follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
