Elizabeth Anne Jameson, affectionately known as Libby, peacefully passed away at her home with her husband of 28 years by her side. For the last week of her life, her best friend Amy, her mother Carol, and daughter Mignon were also by her side, praying and sending love to her as she let go. She is now embraced by the eternal grace of Jesus. Libby’s spirit and memory will be cherished by all those who knew and loved her.

One of Libby’s most beloved traditions was spending Christmas Eve with the Cables, a joyous occasion that brought together the Hobbs and Cables families in heartwarming unity. The Cables and Hobbs Christmas Eve celebration was a delightful affair, filled with laughter, love, and boundless creativity. Together, they would engage in lively games and sing Christmas carols with a unique twist, infusing the performances with imaginative props and contagious enthusiasm. The rendition of “The 12 Days of Christmas” became a highlight of the evening, with each family member contributing their own hilarious additions and heartwarming memories. The Cables and Hobbs Christmas Eve was a testament to the enduring bonds of family and the joy found in creating cherished memories together.

Fondly known as Ms. Libby, her passion for dance ignited at the tender age of four. With an innate sense of rhythm, she could not resist swaying to the melodies of life whenever she heard a tune on the radio. At just twenty years old, she embarked on an entrepreneurial journey in the world of dance, showcasing her innate talent for choreography. Libby’s dedication to her craft led her to establish dance studios in both the Houston and Dallas areas in Texas, where she nurtured the talents of countless aspiring dancers, including her daughter Mignon, who did a duet with her for “Ballerina Girl”—a wonderful moment they shared. Throughout her illustrious career, she mesmerized audiences with delightful performances that brought smiles to faces and joy to hearts. Her artistic influence extended far beyond the stage, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those she taught and inspired.

In addition to her love for dance and entrepreneurship, Libby cherished her high school days filled with the vibrant music of the 60’s and 70’s, which provided the soundtrack to her youth. She reveled in the camaraderie of her close-knit circle of friends, including Amy, Jan, Melinda, MaryJane, Pam, Nena, Ann, Carol, Kathy, Bev, Jolene and Julee, who made her high school experience truly unforgettable. Together, they shared joyous moments cheerleading for their school teams and created lasting memories of carefree beach days at Crystal Beach, Texas, where they laughed, danced, and basked in the warmth of friendship under the sun. Those cherished times remained etched in Libby’s heart, reminding her of the power of love and laughter.

Before her illness began, Libby and her husband enjoyed spending quality time at their beach cabin in Crystal Beach, a place that held a special spot in her heart, evoking treasured memories of carefree teenage days. This idyllic retreat by the shore was her favorite place to be, where she could relish the simple joys of life while creating new memories with her beloved Frank. The beach cabin became a serene haven, offering them a chance to escape the hustle of daily life and immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature. Despite her illness, the memories of those peaceful days remained a source of comfort for Libby, reminding her of the happiness they shared at this beloved getaway.

As we mourn the loss of an incredible woman, we also celebrate a life well-lived and remember the joy she brought to countless lives. Libby’s radiant spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she find eternal peace in the arms of the Savior she now rejoices with, and be reunited with her father Wendell, her brother Rodney, and her ancestors that came before her.

Libby leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her mother, Carol Hobbs; loving husband, Frank Jameson; her cherished children, D Wendell and Mignon; and daughter-in-law, Kaitlin. She is also remembered fondly by her stepchildren, Erin and Sean, and her son-in-law, Chris. Her presence will be dearly missed by her seven grandbabies, whom she adored with all her heart and constantly spoke about. These precious grandchildren, Mia, Sammie, Noah, Charlie, Mclane, Calum, and Keegan, were the first thing she asked about and the source of immeasurable joy in her life. In addition to her immediate family, Libby is also survived by her brother, Allen, and sisters-in-law, Sharon and Tami, who were cherished members of her extended family; sister-in-law, Melinda, and her husband, Douglas, who loved her dearly; and her sister-in-law, Margaret, who assisted Libby during her first days of illness.

Libby was preceded in death by her beloved father, Wendell and her dear brother, Rodney.

A Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, where friends and family will come together to honor and remember the remarkable life of Elizabeth Anne Jameson. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
