John Earl Carlock

July 10, 1955 - August 22, 2023

We are here today to celebrate the life of John Earl Carlock. John Earl was born in Monroe, Louisiana, on July 10, 1955, and passed from this life on August 21, 2023. John Earl was an Officer for the Church Point Police, a Correctional Officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 12 years where he retired in August of 2006. Earl enjoyed all things Cowboy, loved to fish and was a great guitar and bass player. He was a loving husband to Rhonda Carlock, a caring father to his two sons, Brandon and Aaron, and daughter Robin. He is the brother of Bonnie Cobb (Bug) of Pineville, Louisiana, and Donna Hahn (Duck) of Arlington, Texas. He is survived by multiple extended family and adored his nieces and nephews.

John (Earl) Carlock was preceded in death by his parents; his dad, John Benjamin (JB) Carlock; mom, Annette Long Carlock; his two sons, John Brandon Carlock and Aaron Michael Benn; and daughter, Robin Nicole Benn.

He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 1, 2023, at First Pentecostal Church, 185 Camp Street, Vidor. His interment will follow in a private family plot in Newton, Texas, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

His family would love to give thanks to the Altus Hospice staff and the Mid-Jefferson Extended Care, Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Beaumont, Texas, and the DaVita Dialysis Center in Beaumont, for their utmost care and treatment during his illness. We want to give thanks to all who prayed, visited, called and showed love and support to our family during his health struggles. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed.

    I’m his first cousin Darlene Trichell. I loved my sweet cousin tho I seldom saw him in his adult years. All of his hurt is over. He loved his family. His wife and dad loved him so much. My heart cries for him.
