Austin Major Reed

December 12, 2003 - October 2, 2023

Austin Major Reed gained his heavenly wings at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, Houston, October 2, 2023, at 3:57 p.m., surrounded by his loving family. He loved that family, his friends, fun times, great music, and walking his own path. He shared that path of good times with his brother and sisters so very happily. Nothing made him happier than listening to good music with his best bud, his dad, while eating his favorite food in the world- his mama’s cooking.

This gentle, old soul was a smile in the eyes and a heart as kind as they come. He could be found rooting for the Longhorns and the Astros, and his precious nephews that he adored. Austin always had a smile on his face that he generously would share with you. His generous spirit will live on, as he is an organ donor. What a beautiful legacy he leaves.

There aren’t words adequate to convey how missed Austin will be. Austin you were precious in our sight, and so precious in the sight of the Lord.

Lance, Jennifer, Chance and Hope, I am so sorry for your loss. Austin was such a beautiful souls. He was funny as can be, always out others before himself no matter what. His family and friends were the most important things in his life. I met him when he was just a kid in middle school. Kicking him out in the man cave for being an annoying kid. He grew up to be an amazing man and friend. I will never forget him. You guys are in my heart and prayers everyday. Rest in peace Austin. I’m sure your kickin some butt up there ❤️

I Met Austin my sophomore year in high school during Art class & he was one of the most funniest dudes I’ve ever met. I’m beyond devastated to figure out the news of his passing. Everyday when I see him walk in class, he never fails to enlighten the room with his energy & passion of making people smile. After we graduated high school, he would still swing by my work to speak to me on a daily basis & we would always communicate through text messages. im grateful to god for the precious memories that I can share for his legacy. My condolences are with his family.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Reed and family,
I am Jonathan’s mom, Austin’s friend. I just want to let you know that on behalf of my son Jonathan and my family, we send our most sincerest condolences. Austin was such a sweet and caring soul. The times that he came over and spent the night with Jonathan staying up playing video games, he was always so nice and well behaved. I can’t imagine your pain. I pray to God that he wraps you and your family in his loving arms and gives you strength to get through this. Our hearts and prayers are with you.
