Debbie Smith
Debbie Smith (Daigle), 65, of Fannett, Texas, passed away on October 26, 2023, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont.
Debbie was born on November 2, 1957, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was a graduate of Hamshire – Fannett High School. Debbie was married to her loving husband Terry for twenty-three years and cherished being a proud Nana to her eight grandchildren. She always looked forward to visiting the lake or beach as she loved being near the water and being on a boat. She often enjoyed chancing her luck at the casino. Debbie was well-known for her world-famous potato salad.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Terry Smith; daughter, MaryAnn Vandiver of Fannett; sons, Joey Craigen and his wife, Katie, of Fannett; CJ Smith and his wife, Jessica, of Adel, Georgia; Shawn Smith and his wife, Jessica, of Hamshire; grandchildren, Landon and Laney Vandiver, Cade and Brody Craigen, Colson and Cody Smith, Sadie Stanley, and Samuel Smith; sister, Holly Honeycutt and her husband, Johnny and their kids, Bailee and Jesse, of Fannett; brother, Duke Daigle and his wife, Teri, and their son, Ty, of Fannett; and father-in-law, T-Joe Smith of Henderson, Louisiana.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mary Nell Daigle; brother, Joey Daigle; and grandparents, Laurent and Ida Daigle and JD and Nelly Dryden.
A gathering of Mrs. Smith’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a Rosary recited at 11:00 a.m., and her funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

I am so saddened for all of your loss. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Debbie. Her spaghetti she blessed us with was the best I ever ate. I am saddened that I didn’t know her sooner! May God’s peace be with each of you her family.
