Richard Weston Cook

June 9, 1943 - November 10, 2023

Richard Weston Cook, 80, of Beaumont, died Friday, November 10, 2023, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born June 9, 1943, in Lompac, California, to Mary Ella Weston Cook and Robert Dent Cook. Richard was a United States Navy foreign war veteran and was a retired IBEW electrician. He assisted in the YMBL and competed in drag racing. Richard loved his dogs, baking pies, and football, especially the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his son, Chris Cook and his wife, Tammy, of Vidor; daughter, Shelley Cook of Beaumont; step-granddaughter, Kayla Shouse and her husband, Chris; step-great-grandchildren, Connor, Corbin, Allison, and Hensley; sister, Roberta Chesley; nephews, Michael Chesley and Steve Anthony and his wife, Marge; niece, Meghan Hubel and her husband, Josh; and great-nephew, Weston.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Linda Pace Cook; brother, Don Cook; sister, Shirley Cook-Bernhardt; brother-in-law, David Chesley; and nephew and his wife, Mark Anthony and his wife, Carol.

Mr. Cook’s cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

    I remember Mr. Cook fondly & have many wonderful memories from teenagehood spent over at the Cook residence.

    To my one and only 1st cousin on the Weston side. So many memories, from especially your June 9th on your 80th Birthday at Sartin’s with your Sister Roberta, you loved every minute.
    If it wasn’t for my friend Peggy Laird you never would met your wife Linda when she working at Gulf States.
    You were my best friend helping me out all way there for me anytime.
    Now please watch over me and Robert as a true guardian angle, you are so missed.
