Mike Meeker

January 17, 1946 - November 13, 2023

Mike Meeker, 77, of Nederland, died Monday, November 13, 2023. He was born January 17, 1946, in Springfield, Missouri, to Merle and Edith Meeker.

He retired from PabTex as General Manager and Vice President after over 28 years of service. He enjoyed jeeping, drag racing, hunting, and was a member of the Down South Buggy Club. He will forever remain a loving husband, father, and pawpaw.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Tinker Meeker of Nederland; sons, Michael Meeker and his wife, Melinda Carter, of Houston, and Eddie Meeker of Nederland; grandchildren, Noah and Eleanor; cousins, Tom Merrill and Betsy Harlan, both of Topeka, Kansas; sister-in-law, Pam Wyont; brother-in-law, Ed Barnes, of Haughton, Louisiana; nephew and niece, Beau and Staci; and numerous friends and family, especially missed by his faithful canine companion, Mathilda.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents.

Nanny would like to recognize her grandchildren, Noah and Eleanor, for the special care they gave their pawpaw for the last 13 years.

There will be a gathering of Mr. Meeker’s family and friends at 5:00 p.m. until 8: 00 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2023, at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Blanchard, Louisiana.
