Don Moore
Don Moore, 80, of Silsbee, died Monday, December 11, 2023. He was born on June 24, 1943, in Fred, to Nellie Opal Moore and Jim Robert Moore
Mr. Moore worked in the plywood industry and was a long time member of Good Samaritan Fellowship Church, Fred.
Survivors include his wife, Eugenia Moore; children, Reverend Don Moore, II and his wife, Misty, of Decatur, Alabama; Reverend Robert Moore and his wife, Tabitha, of Spurger; Michelle Marasciullo and her husband, Marion, of Woodville; Timmy Moore and his wife, Amber, of Kirbyville; and Dusty Moore and his wife, Sheena, of Silsbee; twenty-four grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nova Dee Stumpf of Silsbee; Bobbie Gregory of Fred; Martha Nell Ard of Silsbee; and Dwon Moore and his wife, Barbara and Robert Keith Moore and his wife, Nancy, all of Fred. He is preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Rayburn James Clark; and siblings, Dennis Moore, Travis Lee Moore, and Roy Burton Moore.
A gathering of Mr. Moore’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2023, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at Franks Branch Cemetery, Fred.

It is in these times our heart is torn as we for ever on will miss the one we loved so dearly. As though the times of eternity seems to drag on before we see them again. But this life is but a vapor, here one minute and gone the next. Be encouraged knowing soon we all will be gather together around God’s throne and those we loved whom has beat us there will join us in praise to our Lord.

Since our families came together 30 years ago, from the very beginning, Don Moore made any one of us feel like we’ve always known each other. That’s just how he‘d make people feel. He was an exceptional character in so many ways. He didn’t seem to be real outspoken but what he did say went straight to your heart. He had such a tender heart for his family, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved his in-law children as if they were his very own. Now Heaven has gotten a little sweeter, but he left a part of himself behind in each life that he touched, to carry on in the hope and love that he lived by.
When thinking about different characters in the Bible and how their lives affected those around them, it’s easy to see Don in Joseph:
a loving, patient, kind, persistent, strong father figure who gave it all he had before having to leave too soon to receive his reward from his Heavenly Father for a job well done as a husband to Mary and
an earthly father to Jesus and their other children.
Yep, Don was a lot like Joseph.

you send us to bless our lives.
This Daddy, this daddy-in-law, this sweet Pawpaw, this brother in Christ, this good friend is one of those blessings and we will miss him until we see him again.

Oh dear family, I am sorry to hear of the passing of this great man. My childhood and young adult years were enriched and shaped by his fun loving personality and example of hard work. I cherish the relationship our families had. My parents, Charles and Jane and I loved and love your family so much!! The wonderful memories of camping and fishing and water skiing and watching the kids play Fred Tiger baseball, post office parties, marveling at Don’s incredible farm, ALL of it are such a cherished part of my forever memories. All of you wonderful kids, grandkids, great grandkids and of course. Sweet Eugenia are a living and loving testimony to the great man, Don Moore! My love, thoughts and prayers are with you all!!
