James Kent Tatum

James Kent Tatum, 57, of Silsbee, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.  He was born on October 6, 1966, in Nederland, to Barbara Ann Lumpkin Tatum and James Thomas Tatum.

James was a 1985 graduate of Port Neches High School.  He married Jerri (Hughes) Tatum on September 19, 1990, in Port Arthur and he worked as a truck driver.  James loved music when he wasn’t dedicating time to his family.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-five years, Jerri Tatum; daughter, Laci Harper and her husband, Donald, of Kirbyville; son, Tyler Tatum of Beaumont; stepson, Cody Banks and husband, Jeffrey, of California; grandchildren, Kolton Hall, Konnor Harper, and Kent Harper; father, James Tatum; sister, Jeannie Sasser and her husband, Robert; and nieces and nephews, JoLynn, Sara, Jeremy, Caleb, Aspen, Jacob, and Ethan, whom he loved dearly.  He is preceded in death by his mother, and sister, Joannie Tatum.

James’ committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
