Richard Wayne McDaniel

Richard Wayne McDaniel, 81, of Beaumont, died Friday, January 5, 2024, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on October 3, 1942, to Maudie Savell McDaniel and  Richard Levi “R.L.” McDaniel, in Hemphill and was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam. Richard worked as a carpenter, telephone lineman, and operator at Goodyear.

Survivors include his son, Richard Barry McDaniel of Beaumont; daughter, Melissia Ann Davis and her husband, James B., of Winnie; sister, June Onorato of Lufkin; grandchildren, Nathan McDaniel, Marisa McDaniel, Lillian Davis, and Olivia Davis; niece, Michelle Onorato Jones and her husband, Glen, of Jasper; and nephew, John Onorato and his wife, Kelli Sims, of Houston.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine McDaniel and parents.

A gathering of Mr. McDaniel’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.
