Roland Vigers, Sr.

August 7, 1940 - January 14, 2024

Roland Vigers, Sr., 83, of Winnie, died Sunday, January 14, 2024. He was born August 7, 1940, in Chataignier, Louisiana, to Anna Edwards Vigers and Douglas Vigers.

Survivors include his children, Roland Vigers, Jr. and wife, Evelyn; Luciana Rae Hutchings and husband, Calvin; and Kevin Carrier and wife, Shonda; grandchildren, Brian Vigers, Darius Hutchings, Calvin Hutchings, Jr., and Kevin Carrier, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Allannah Carrier; siblings, Milton Vigers, Rose Jean Citizen, Jean Theresa Vigers, Barbara Dick, Gervis Vigers; and godchild, Shirley Poullard Johnwell.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janie Marie Vigers; and siblings, Carlton Vigers and Tolton Vigers.

Mr. Vigers’ cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.

    Lucy and Junior remember the good times with your dad. I know Uncle Roland loved you all very much and was proud of you all. Remember his smile, his laugh, and his voice. He did all he knew to do in loving and caring for you all. Be thankful you had him for a long time, thank God. Do your best in life, love one another and be there for each other. I’m here if you need me, Cousin Mary love you all always and be blessed.
