Judy Archibald

January 1, 1940 - December 10, 2023

Judy Archibald joined the love of her life, Terry “T”, on Sunday, December 10, 2023, peacefully from her home in Beaumont. Judith Ann Phillips was born to Harold and Lois Phillips in Hunt County on January 1, 1940. The Phillips family moved to Stafford, Arizona when Judy, known mostly as JD, “Judy Darlin”, was very young and they lived there for many years, where she met T, and they relocated to Beaumont in 1983.

Over the years, T and JD were fortunate to acquire an abundance of lifelong friends, traveled frequently and enjoyed life as much as a couple possibly could.

JD is survived by her sister, Lucia Howard, and her husband, Jack Howard; brother-in-law, Lee Archibald and his wife, Shelli; sons, Phillip Archibald, and Tony Archibald; daughter-in-law, Dana Archibald; grandchildren, Tony, Eric, Terri Lee, and Eva; and great-grandchildren, Rhett, Mack and Nolean.

A cocktail hour to celebrate JD and T’s life together will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., February 10, 2024, at the Logon Café and Pub, 3805 Calder Avenue, Beaumont. For those not able to attend in person, a zoom link shall be provided. Cremation arrangements for Mrs. Archibald were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

I’d like to pay my respects to the Archibald family, in particular, Phil and Tony. Mrs. Archibald was a wonderful woman and almost like a second Mom as Tony and I grew up as great friends. I don’t remember ever seeing her without a smile on her face and laughing, and was just so nice to be around. I was always over at Tony‘s house and she always treated me so kindly even when Tony and I would get into some bit of trouble. I can still hear her voice to this day asking how was I doing anytime I went over to visit Tony. A few months before her passing , I was talking with Tony on the phone as he went to check on her. When he got to her house, he told her who was on the phone and put us on speakerphone. I said how are you Mrs. Archibald and she said oh Jeff, is that you? It was that same wonderful kind, sing song, voice that she had that instantly took me back to my teenage years, spending much time, at Mr. and Mrs. Archibald‘s home hanging out with Tony. No matter what Tony and I got up to. She was always so cheerful and kind and anyone who was around her could feel her sunshine. She will be missed and I am so glad to have been able to speak with her just a few months ago over the speakerphone with Tony there and she knew exactly who I was, and was just as kind as I remembered her. May she rest in peace, and be remembered fondly as I’m sure she will be by anyone who ever met her. Tony and Phil, you have a great Mom who will always be with you in your hearts forever. God bless y’all
