Dennis “Pawpaw” Williams

February 14, 1950 - May 23, 2024

Dennis Royce Williams, 74, of Beaumont, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was born on February 14,1950, in Jasper, to Elton Williams and Opal Webb Williams. Dennis is survived by one brother, Grady Jones.  He is also survived by his wife, Marla; children Corby (Ashley, wife) and Amy (Daniel, husband).   His favorite title was Pawpaw and he was the happiest when they were around.  They included Katie, Tylan & wife Jamie, Julianna, Garrett & wife Jacey, Lacey, Seth & wife Jillian, Dawson and Ethan.

He was blessed to be great grandfather to seven beautiful children – Jaydon, Hazel, Emmie, Wyatt, Raylie and Willow.  He considered himself beyond blessed with his family.

Dennis Graduated from Kilgore College in April of 1971, with an associate degree in Applied Arts, Gas & Oil Technology. He majored in Drilling Fluids and Minored in Rig Equipment. He spent his career doing maintenance, operations, and management. He was thankful that he was able to work in different states and overseas with some of these jobs.

After the passing of his first wife, Dennis and his 2 children met Marla in 1980.  They have been together for 43 years. He was a loving father to Corby and Amy, involved in all they did as children. He and his family were able to travel the world, living in Saudi Arabia, Jasper, Houston, St. Croix, then finally settling in Beaumont, Texas.

He joined the Masonic Lodge while living in Saudi Arabia and was a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish and York Rite. The family was active in the Masonic Lodge, with trips, fund raisers, camp activities and holiday events with the kids in Abqaiq.

When they moved to Beaumont in 2007, Dennis and Marla started a “handy man” service helping the elderly people in the neighborhood and then extending to friends. He was knowledgeable in every household repair there was. Usually, the customers were elderly women and Dennis loved flirting with all of them.  He always tried to boost their confidence and make them feel good about themselves. He had a heart of gold and would do anything to help a friend or family.  He and Marla had a great life together with their children.  Having the grandchildren, he was involved as much as he possibly could be attending many events and such. He finally retired in 2015 when his health began to decline.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692.
