Allen Ponfick, 58, of Orangefield, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth in Beaumont after a brief illness. He was born on January 5, 1966, in Huntsville, Texas, to Eva Gail Cowan Ponfick and James Allen Ponfick.

Allen was a lifelong resident of Southeast Texas. He graduated from Beaumont-Charlton Pollard High School in 1985 and worked as a Master Electrician. He was a dedicated member of IBEW Local 479 throughout his career. In 1989, Allen married Haley Brockett, and together they recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.

Allen enjoyed life to the fullest, often called the “life of the party.” He enjoyed his children, family, friends, and his loyal canine companions, Bessie, Rocko, Tolly, and Layla. His favorite pups, Butch and Sunny, recently preceded him in death. He was a hunter and loved grilling, bar-be-que and music, from country to hard rock. He loved the beach, Texas A&M Aggies, and playing blackjack. He put his shoes on first thing every morning and was busy until he went to bed at night – reading the newspaper, solving world problems in the driveway with his neighbors, mowing the yard or playing with his precious granddaughter, Brynn.

He is survived by his loving wife, Haley Brockett Ponfick; his daughter, Jenna Ponfick, her fiancé, Kenny Edwards and his granddaughter, Brynn Ponfick; his son, Lane Ponfick; his daughters, Jane Ponfick and Joli Ponfick; all from Orangefield. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Dora Brockett of Beaumont; his sister/brother-in-law, Deena and Ray Clausen of Canyon Lake, Texas; and his nieces, Kelli Jurek and her husband, Sammy, of Richmond, Texas; Elizabeth Miller and her husband, Matthew, of Nederland; and Kacy Radino and her husband, Michael, of Spring Branch, Texas; and three great-nephews.
