Ronald Joseph Comeaux, Sr.

September 30, 1947 - May 26, 2024

Ronald Joseph Comeaux, Sr., 76 of Lumberton, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on May 26, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 30, 1947, in St. Martinsville, Louisiana.

After graduating high school, Ronald enlisted in the United States Marine Corp Reserve. He served honorably in the Marines, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. Ronald’s experience in the Marines shaped him into the man he was and taught him the value of discipline, teamwork, and love for one another.

After leaving the Marines, Ronald went to work for Gulf Oil Refinery where he began working on the railroad. After several acquisitions, he ultimately retired from Chevron Corporation as a maintenance supervisor.

Ronald was always the life of the party and never met a stranger. His humor and wit will leave a lasting impression on all that knew him. Ronald had a love for the outdoors and spent countless hours hunting, fishing and sitting on his dock of the bay at Crystal Beach. Ronald deeply loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Darlene Faye Comeaux of Lumberton; son, Ronald Comeaux, Jr. and wife, Lana, of Pineland; daughter, Tammy Comeaux, of Lumberton; grandsons, Hayden Comeaux and wife, Kylee, of Pineland; Hutch Comeaux of Pineland; and Cayden Comeaux of Lumberton; great-grandsons, River Comeaux and Ridge Comeaux, both of Pineland; sisters, Sable Losack of Huntsville, Nellwyn Blanchette and husband, Charles, of Tennessee, and Susan Murrell and husband, Ray, of Dripping Springs.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Harry J. Comeaux, Sr. and Eva B. Comeaux and his brothers, Harry Comeaux, Jr., Olan Comeaux, and Harold “Hal” Phelps.

A gathering of Ronald’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 409 Events, 1530 FM 3513, Lumberton. All are invited to attend. His cremation arrangements will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium.
