Jimmie Semien

March 5, 1950 - June 2, 2024

Jimmy Semien was born to Morris Semien and Rae Orebo in Beaumont, Texas, on March 5, 1950, and passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the age of 74. In 1968, Jimmy met the love of his life, Jolynn Semien, and they were married on February 8, 1973. They shared 26 wonderful years of marriage and together raised three sons, Micheal, Reggie, Conan. Later in life, Jimmy had another son, Ben Jackson, then was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Shayla and Shajamia Semien. Jimmy had five sisters and four brothers. He also had nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Sr. and Rae Orebo; brothers Morris Jr., Julius Orebo, Bennie Orebo, and Danny Orebo; and sister, Trina Anderson.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his sisters, Ella Semien (Willard), Jackie Day, Regina Hayward, and IDella Lewis; children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and many friends.

During his youth, Jimmy had a passion for reading comic books, particularly “Conan The Barbarian.” As he grew older, his interests expanded to a wide variety of movie genres, TV shows especially westerns and a great appreciation for humor. His passion for art and creativity was evident in his work, leaving behind a legacy of imagination and talent. Jimmy will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and dedication to his family. His love for storytelling and art brought joy to many, and his creative spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jimmy’s life was a testament to love, family, and creativity. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will forever be cherished by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A gathering of Mr. Semien’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2024, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Community Cemetery, Beaumont. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in remembering and honoring Jimmy’s legacy.

    My Brother My Friend well bro saying see you later is just that you was an amazing brother I did learn so much from you if you wasn’t anything else you was practical lol I remember when you taught me how to swing out after that you couldn’t teach me how to do anything else dancing that is😘 you will be a Memory singled out because there wasn’t anyone else that can be in your orbit but “MR.JIMMY SEMIEN” I am so sorry I couldn’t be there to bid you farewell my Brother I had knee surgery you used to talk about my crooked legs.
