Jack – you are so blessed to have had your mother for so many years. I only saw her a few times; she was always dressed beautifully, very classy. Bob recalled when he worked at Sheffield’s Grocery. Marion would come in, always looking beautiful. You were the best son a mother could want. Our prayers are with you and your family as you say your final goodbyes, cherishing all the memories made. We love you! Bob and Debbie

My MawMaw lived a long, fruitful life. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved to tell stories of all the places she had been and about all the people in her family from her past. MawMaw had a flare for jewelry and dressing with that little extra sparkle! Many times her pieces were a conversation starter. She would always say, “Oh this old thing, I’ve had it for years!”
Maw Maw loved dogs and cats. She would take in a stray and call it her own. Mawmaw was also a part of the Red Hat Society for many years. I’m sure she fit right in. One of my fondest memories of her in my childhood was allowing me to come over anytime I wanted (which was easy because she lived right across the street). We would bake old-fashioned sugar cookies from her recipe, which required Crisco and lots of flour! As a six year old child, I had flour all over her kitchen. She even let me use the red and green icing with sprinkles! What a joy it was to see the finished product. And I’m sure in her mind she was thinking, “what a mess I’ll need to clean up!”, but she didn’t seem to mind. Another memory was watching the Johnny Carson show together and a bowl of ice cream.
As a girl growing up, MawMaw loved to take me shopping for school clothes and shoes, which I thought was pretty cool. As I grew up and got married, we moved faraway from home and she and my PawPaw would faithfully take a trip to see our new place. We eventually made it back to Texas, and as we had children of our own, she would always make sure to give them a gift throughout the years. Sometimes we were amused at the unique things she would buy the kids. MawMaw had a great memory even up until a year ago. She would remember the names of people and ask about the grand kids and how they were doing on our phone calls. I don’t believe MawMaw had any regrets. She lived a full life and I know in her last moments, she felt loved by all. I love you MawMaw and may you be happy in heaven now! 🩷
