Florence Mary Mason

March 24, 1932 - June 23, 2024

Florence Mary Mason, 92, of Winnie, died Sunday, June 23, 2024. She was born March 24, 1932, in Zavala, to Lorelia Marie Landry and Jesse Christian.

Florence was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, playing cards on a Sunday afternoon. She loved having family and friends over.

She is survived by daughters; Virginia Barge, and her husband, Butch, of Etoil, Texas, Becky Johnson, and her husband, David, of Temple, Texas, Vanessa Atkinson, and her husband, Jerry, of Coldspring; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Florence is preceded by her parents; loving husband, John Mason; sons, James Jackson, Jerry Jackson, Martin East; and daughter, Lynda Abshire.

A gathering of Ms. Mason’s friends and family will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00p.m., Friday, June 28, 2024, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
