Barbara Johnson

Barbara Alice Johnson, 84, of Kountze, died Friday, December 22, 2017. She was born on April 7, 1933, in Village Mills, to Dona Stutts Reidinger and Johnny Reidinger.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Johnson; children, Donna Melton and her husband, Don, of Bridge City; Cindy Deatrick and her husband, Steve, of Silsbee; Kayla Johnson of Lufkin; Abbe Johnson Overstreet of Lumberton; and Eric Johnson of Frisco; grandchildren, Chris Melton of Vidor; Brittany Overstreet Smith and her husband, Daniel, of Vidor; Stevi Deatrick Johnson of Silsbee; Hunter Deatrick of Mountain Home, Idaho; and Dakota Deatrick of Silsbee; great-grandchildren, Madyson Melton and Mallorie Melton, both of Vidor, and Brodie Bannister and Ever Johnson, both of Silsbee; and brother, Charles Huggins of Kountze. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Ricky Johnson; grandson, Dusty Overstreet; and sister, Dannie Faye Moss.

A gathering of Mrs. Johnson’s family and friends will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Kountze Church of Christ, 1035 North Pine, Kountze, with her interment to follow at Holland Cemetery, Kountze.
