For those who loved and cherished Kathy, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine how difficult this time is for you. Our kind and loving creator Jehovah God (Psalms 83:18) offers comfort in the Bible. John 5:28, 29 - There will be a resurrection Revelation 21:4 - God is going to do away with death, sorrow, mourning, and pain.
