James Durso

March 16, 1971 - February 4, 2018

James “Scooter” Derek Durso, 46, of Nederland, died Sunday, February 4, 2018. He was born on March 16, 1971, in Port Arthur, to Rebecca Lynn Bounds and Carlos Vincent Durso.

Survivors include his father, Carlos V. Durso and his wife, Diane, of Nederland; mother, Rebecca Lynn Flach and her husband, Chris, of Nederland; children, Hannah Jayce Durso, Derek Blaze Durso, and Slade James Durso; sisters, Rachel Dickson and her husband, David; Cindy Ashcraft and her husband, Jim; and Amanda Buchenhain and her husband, David; half-brothers, Morgan Duplant and Logan Duplant; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Tony and Katherine Durso, James “Pop” and Mary Bounds, and J.W. and Bobbie Ruth Moye.

A gathering of Mr. Durso’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 9, 2018, at Broussard’s, Nederland, with interment following at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Durso’s memory to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
