Richard “Dick” Brode

September 3, 1928 - January 24, 2019

Richard “Dick” Brode, 90, of LaBelle, died Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Beaumont. He was born September 3, 1928, in Frostburg, Maryland, to Millicent Callion Brode and Theodore R. Brode.

Dick enjoyed boating, he would often cruise and fish the Gulf and on occasion would charter his boat for fishing.

Survivors include his sons, Eric Brode and his wife, Rhonda, of LaBelle; Michael Reid and his wife, Teresa, of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Chris Reid and his wife, Kristina, of Lumberton; daughter, Susie Duhon and her husband, Paul, of Lumberton; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen, Bobbi, and Norma; and brothers, Roger and Jerry.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Francis H. Brode; second wife, Judy Nickel Brode; and brothers, Glenn and Larry.

A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Brode’s memory to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 North Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33309-2132.
