My deepest condolences to the family in Mike's passing. I always looked forward to his phone call every spring to come pick figs. The visit was the high point... the figs were just a bonus. "Go rest high on that mountain" my dear friend... until we meet again. Tommy Barnes

Mike and Barbara made a huge impression on my life when I was very young , I just felt like they were special. Mike and Barbara regularly visited my family and always made us feel loved and special. I would tell my Mom & Dad they are always so kind to us. As a young girl I didn’t realize that they were so kind and loving because they were then and still are today faithful Christians. I did not figure that part out until I grew up and became a Christian and learned Scriptures that tell us how God wants us to love others. It was then that I understood what I saw in Mike and Barbara was The Spirit Of Christ living thru them. I know that Mike went to Heaven with Jesus and I know Our Lord said to him Well done my good and faithful servant. Personally my heart aches because of his earthly death, but he is walking the streets of gold and I am quite sure he is inviting everyone to come over to eat and fellowship in the mansion God prepared for him.. With Christian Love, Cousin Connie

I am sorry to hear about Mike's passing.I remember him for his outgoing personality, and his gardening. I bought his old Buick and used it in law school.

Barbara and the family are in my thoughts and prayers. He will be missed by many. We just have to remember that he’s in a better place. He was always a perfect example of a Christian man.

Our prayers are with Jason, Barbara and the family. Mike truly was "one of the good guys" and we had great respect and love for him. He always gave me a laugh when we'd see him for thanking us for helping feed his grandchildren. (Jason's company has always done our lawn since high school) The last time I saw him, he came to help me clean out my freezer that had gone out ----what a gentleman!

Ronald Arrington

Barbara I am so sorry to hear about Mike. I will never forget the day you and Mike came to visit our daughter, Ashley after her bypasses. Our AHS Class Reunions will not quite be the same.

So many funny times picking figs...we looked hysterical in our hats, boots, long pants and gloves in the middle of Summer just a fig pickin! Our neighbor for about 15 years. He looked out for us. Big loss to all. Lynn and Jack Adamchik

Barbara, I'm so sorry for your loss. I only got to meet you two a little over a year ago when you visited John and Sue here in Virginia. After that there were few weeks that went by that I didn't hear from Mike by phone or email and always talking about the Bible. I knew he had to be a good man to be John Knox's brother. When I heard of his passing I knew without doubt that he was just where he'd lived his life to be. What a gathering that will be one day! God bless you and your family, and you'll continue to be in my prayers. I hope to visit you the next time I'm in my hometown of Beaumont. Love always, Charlene

Arlene and I just heard this morning at church and were absolutely shocked. Mike will always be in my memory as one of the greatest I have ever known, from the first day while recruiting him in Aggieland , until the last day we got tomatoes from him. He will always be one of the best friends I have ever known. We look forward to that day we will meet in heaven and talk about old memories. Our love goes to Barb and the rest of the family,

Mike was the very epitome of a fine Christian man. We had communicated quite often through the years either by e-mail or telephone. Many times during our conversations he would make it a point to interject something about church or quote some scripture which was quite appropriate. He was a strong positive example of a follower of Christ. He was so proud of his gardening skills and would send pictures on his phone of the "prized fruit" of his labors. He would even send us, through the mail, containers of his delicious figs. He was quite impressed with a new 1951 carnation red ford we bought shortly after we were married and often mentioned it when we visited on the phone. Oh, so many nice memories of Mike and we'll miss getting to talk with him now and then. We're thinking about Mike and family.

Barbara, so sorry to hear about Mike. We worked together at the refinery and always enjoyed his friendship. Our girls still remember their visits to the creek house..

Judith and Ron Miller

Mike Knox, the ever energetic, optimistic, caring, humble Christian. He was a constant force for good in many ways. His public prayers were personal conversations with God, touching on areas of national concern as well as asking for blessings for specific people. We grieve for his absence among us. We rejoice that he is in the presence of God.

Don & Syble Jeffcoat

Our hearts are heavy for the Knox family's loss. Mike was a great guy. We always enjoyed our visits with him during fig season. Sending thoughts and prayers to Barbara and Jason and all the family. May Mike Rest In Peace.

I only met Mr. Knox recently at a venue where my daughter works. I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet this good man. My daughter spoke so very highly of him, and after only speaking g with him briefly I could understand why. Mr. Knox was a genuine gentleman. Rest in peace, Sir.

We were shocked today to learn of Mike's passing. We were not even aware that he had been ill. I still remember him coming to visit my father in the hospital two years ago when he had colon surgery. He will be remembered for his gregarious nature and friendliness. Blessings to all the Knox family.

Mr. Knox has been one of our most beloved and cherished patients for about 30 years now. He was a joy to visit with and we will truly miss him. He was not only our patient but our friend. Our Love and Prayers are with the family during this difficult time for peace in knowing that Mr. Knox is in a more beautiful place now.

It really got to me, hearing about Mr. Knox. He was just a wonderful, booming presence in the lobby of Ridgewood Church of Christ with an uncanny knack for making everyone around him smile. One of my earliest memories from Ridgewood was watching Mr. Knox carry out a sleeping Jason on his shoulder late one evening after service. Jason and I must have been about five or six then, and Jason was wearing these tiny cowboy boots that matched his dad's. I thought that was really cool. My heart goes out to Mrs. Knox, Jason and the family. Mr. Knox may be gone, but he touched so many - may his memories live on and provide comfort.

David & Stephanie Camp

Mike treated us just like family from our first meeting at Ridgewood in 2004. And when he found out that we, not only knew where Cotter, AR was, but had lived there, we became his "Brother and Sister from Cotter". No matter how long it had been since we'd seen him last, he always greeted us with a big hug and a smile. He was a wonderful Christian man and will be missed so many people. Barbara, we love you and, please know, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. The Camp Family

Mike was such a gentle, godly man who always had a kind word for me when we would see each other. He will be missed by his family and church family, but they will always remember him with a smile on their faces and a song in their heart.
