Charles Rothrock
Charles Edward Rothrock, 69, of Port Neches, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born to Myrtle Jean Gibbons and Robert Ed Rothrock, on August 15, 1949, in Levelland.
Survivors include his father, Robert Rothrock and his wife, Alice, of Orange; sister, Barbara Jean Vincent and her husband, Butch, of Nederland; and beloved dog, Lucy. There were too many friends to be listed, but a few of the longest and best were Sheri and Gary Bell, E.J. Ashford, John Wilson, Dallas Sparks, Keith Hauge, Jerry Bridges, Gary Rayburn, Pinkie Reynolds, Don Sample, Bull, George, Paws Veterinary Clinic and Grooming Spa and Charlie’s own, Rhonda Lynn.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Jean Rothrock; and brother, Michael Robert Rothrock.
Memorial contributions may be made to Early Risers/Ralph Burrage, Calvary Baptist Church, 3650 Dowlen Road, Beaumont 77706.
On behalf of Charlie, a special thanks is to be given to Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group and Broussard’s, Nederland, for their impeccable and gracious service in this time of sorrow.
A gathering of Mr. Rothrock’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., with full military honors, Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will be held at a later date, at The Houston National Cemetery.

I was honored to be Charlie's prayer partner at times when he did talks at Emmaus weekends. Always a good Christian friend, I so enjoyed our conversations. Although we haven't been in touch recently, I have thought of Charlie often. He touched lives in a way that remained even after you were not in touch for a while.... the kind of friend here you pick up where you left off last. . Condolences to all his family and friends. We know He walks with Christ today.

Went to high with Charlie. He was so much fun very upbeat even after he was in the wheelchair. He wheeled like a happy whirling dervish. Last time I talked with him was at the super 60s reunion and the one afte that. Such a knowledgeable man. A Christian who walked the talk!! Prayers for the family!! He's walking with the Lord now. Fly high Charlie!!

Charlie has been a friend of mine for I over 25 years! During those years, he was a friend and confidant who could always make me laugh. Even though Charlie was Confined to a wheelchair, he never let that stop him from enjoying life, being with friends, working Walks to Emmaus, attending. But h services, and volunteering as a Guide and Greeter at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center! He was fearless yet humble! I am certain that he and Mike Hoke are celebrating and laughing in Heaven. Thanks, Charlie For loving me as an older sister! I will see you again one day!

I have known Charlie for over 30 years and he was one of the best people I have ever know. He was a positive influence on my life and many others. We lost touch for a few years after I left the area, but we reconnected in the last few and caught up on old times and shared a meal and laugh together. I will miss Charlie more than anything. Despite his condition he had a positive outlook on life and was a blessing to everyone he met. Good by old friend, you will not be forgotten.

Forty years ago you pulled a drowning 20 year old girl from waters so deep and dark no one else could accomplish the rescue. That girl was me. We began a relationship that has survived the laughter, tears ,sickness and health, good times and bad and now death has left me alone without you. What will I do? I will take care of Lucy and do my best to comfort her grieving heart. I will cherish each and every moment we shared and keep you alive in my heart and mind every day.. My heart will break anew at each dawn when my eyes open and I realize again that you are not here. I always knew that you would have to be with JESUS to be healed. You have run into HIS arms and have found the peace you longed for and deserved. You have always been a " Good and faithful servant." My comfort only comes from knowing you are in the EVERLASTING ARMS where nothing can ever hurt you again. I could have missed this pain but I would have had to miss the dance and oh what a dance we had! I never saw you stand but you were the tallest man I have ever known. I will see you again soon my Charlie.

I worked with Charlie at ADV in the early 1970's. in the Pattern Shop. I remember his accident and lost contact. I also worked with his father Mr. "Rock" at Mobil Refinery until he retired. Our prayers are with his family. Alan & Susan Martin

We will remember Charlie as a fine Christian man willing to serve where ever he could. We first met Charlie when he was working the Kairos Prison Ministry and he served our Lord and Savior well in that capacity. He will be greatly missed by many.
