Eldora Frugé Brammer

December 1, 1937 - February 13, 2021

Eldora Dean Frugé Brammer, 83, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, on Saturday, February 13, 2021.

She was born December 1, 1937, to A.L. and Margaret “Jo” Frugé, in Beaumont, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of Nederland, Texas and graduated from Nederland High School in 1956. That same year she married the love of her life, Albert “Buddy” Brammer, on August 4th. She journaled the first year of their life together. They always had a great time with their friends going to eat at the Pig Stand and getting cokes from Drake’s.

They had four children together each spaced two years apart. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children. In the children’s teen years, she went back to work, at Triangle Engineers and Designers, where she worked for eight years. Buddy and Eldora were members of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, where they ran the Baptism Class with her sister and brother-in-law for several years. After the kids were grown they enjoyed retirement and traveling together. They went to several places including the Caribbean; Europe; Las Vegas; several cruises; and Disneyworld with all the grandkids. “Granny”, as her grandkids called her, also loved Crystal Beach but only on July 4th week and only beachfront.

Eldora was a collector of many things including over five hundred cookbooks; tiny shoe and purse figurines; every Danielle Steele novel ever written; and all the costume jewelry that QVC had to offer. You will never find a bigger Joan Rivers or Princess Diana fan. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and most years you could not see the floor of her home from all the presents. She loved spoiling her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Christmas Eve was her favorite night when all her family would gather and she loved watching kids open presents.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-four years, Buddy Brammer; sister, Donna Johnson and her husband, Mike; brother, Jimmy Frugé and his wife, Darla; son, Eddy Brammer, Sr.; daughters, Karen McGlothin and her husband, Scott; son, Scott Brammer and his wife, Gena; daughter, Lori Casto and her fiancé, Anthony; grandchildren, Eddie Brammer, Jr.; Brandon Brammer; Kaleigh Wortham; Brandi Casto; Blaire Brammer; Leigha Jo Baker; Rachel Brammer; and Emily Casto; great-grandchildren, Brady Casto; Jayde Wortham; Chloe Casto; Blake Wortham; Ellis Ann Brammer; and another on the way; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents and great-grandson, Gavin Gordy-Casto.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Adele Garcia for her loving care.

A gathering of Mrs. Brammer’s family and friends will be from 5:00 pm. until 7:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2021, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland. It was definitely a honor to have met this woman Eldora I have spent many hours sitting in her dining room sharing happy and sad memories with her. She allowed me to come in to her home and help her keep it nice and tidied. When I would go over to her house on Fridays she would be sitting at that round table and we would sit there and literally talked for at least an hour before I was able to get up and clean and yes you were right about the books and the novels and all the nice little trinkets she had around her house and Christmas time I knew it was the most wonderful time of the year for her she loved her family. And I always remember her giving me that candy apple at Christmas time I do believe it come from QVC it was really good actually it was caramel with nuts. Well I definitely know the pain that this family is going through right now because I just lost my daddy two weeks ago due to the Covid and I am heartbroken just as you all are now know that my thoughts and prayers are with y’all and the entire family made this beautiful woman rest in peace and may God pour his peace and comfort out on all of you during this grieving. Rest in heavenly peace Eldora❤️❤️
