Wilma "Heli" Ormsby

Wilma “Heli” Ormsby, 89, of Houston, died Thursday, May 27, 2021. Heli was born on February 16, 1932, to Margarete and Oskar Heidmann in Juelich/Rhineland, Germany.

Wilma loved her homeland and always admired the spirit of her people in rebuilding a war-ravaged country. In 1960, she came to America to marry her love, George Stonewall Ormsby. They lived an interesting and fulfilling life until his death in 2011.

Sad to leave this beautiful planet but overjoyed to be re-united with my George, Mutti, Papa, my brother, and all those who enriched my life. What a fine reunion we will have! To you, left behind, I wish to say: Be kind, keep your sacred values intact and respect the ground under your feet.” “Dear Heavenly Father, guide me Home.”

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Steffi Heidmann; stepchildren, Kathleen Solcher and her husband, Dr. Dean Solcher; Colleen Lewis and her husband, Leslie; and Jim B. Ormsby and his wife, Betty; grandchildren, Jim Bradford Woods and his wife, Bobbi; Joel Ormsby; Jason Ormsby and his wife, Katherine; Will Ormsby; Blake Ormsby; and Derik Ormsby.

A gathering of Mrs. Ormsby’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake.
