Augustina Varela

Augustina Alviar Varela, 89, of Beaumont, died Thursday, April 25, 2019. She was born on September 26, 1929, to Pilar Alveldana Alviar and Crescencio Alviar, in Beaumont. 

Survivors include her daughters, Francica Maleno and Gloria Segura, both of Beaumont; sons, Jesse Varela and his wife, Maria, of Beaumont; and Raymon Varela and his wife, Ofelia, of McAllen; eleven grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Varela; daughter, Olivia; four brothers, and three sisters.

A gathering of Mrs. Varela’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2019, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 767 Avenue A, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
