My heart is so broken. In all the years I was honored to be a part of Austin's life, he was so sweet to me. He made me feel like a daughter,to him, not a step child. He loved me, and I loved him. We watched a lot of Jeopardy together, and he always knew the answers,, sometimes a little late, but he always said that he was just about to say that! I've never in my life known anyone who had so many interesting stories to tell. Best story teller ever! I've missed him for a few months since he went back to Kerrville with family. Now, I will miss him until we meet again in heaven. My sincerest, heart felt condolences to his children, and all his family, and friends. Kathleen

What a life well-lived! I first met Austin Vaughan (Mr. Vaughan to me) when I was a 5th grade kid, living in Amarillo, Texas. Curt and I were best friends. Although it's been many years since I've seen Mr. Vaughan, I always remember him as an Amarillo Police Officer. He had the BEST Police dog ever. He'd take time to talk with us and show us how he and the dog worked together. He always had time to talk. He could tell some exciting stories about his work. One of the greatest legacies a man can leave, aside from making the world, and his community, a better place is in the love he had for his family and his family for him. On that note, Job well done, Mr. Vaughan. Through knowing Curt (and his sister, Sharon) all these years, I know that's true. They loved their Dad. Donna and I wish to extend our condolences and sympathy to the family. May God's abounding love and peace give you all comfort during this time of sorrow.
