Billie Floyd

November 14, 1933 - October 18, 2019

Billie Dove Floyd, 85, of Port Neches, passed away at her home on Friday, October 18, 2019. She was born November 14, 1933, in Hardy, Kentucky, to Frances Duncan Floyd and Elmer Hutchison.

She loved handy crafts of all types. She constantly kept busy with an inexhaustible list of activities including crocheting, embroidery, sewing, and decorating glassware just to name a few. She gave these works of art to her friends and extended family as a gesture of love and care. She was known for being very generous.

Her passion in life, however, was her two granddaughters, Marlee Floyd Willingham and Madison Floyd. She kept her grandchildren as often as possible. She was always picking them up from school and other functions and collecting memories of their daily activities in a series of photo albums and scrap books. Every conversation with her would spark the recollection of a multitude of stories about the great times that she shared with her granddaughters.

In addition, she maintained a loving and caring relationship with her closest brother, Glen Hutchison. Although, their health would no longer allow them to travel long distances to see each other, they kept up with each other through regular phone conversations which allowed them to remain close.

Her passing will leave a huge void in the lives of those who loved and knew her, but the happy memories that she engendered will remain to ease that loss.

Survivors include her children, Donna Robicheaux and her husband, Kent, of Nederland and Ronnie Floyd and his wife, Jeri, of Port Neches; granddaughter, Madison Floyd, of Port Arthur; grandson, Brandon Robicheaux and his wife, Jenny, of Buna; two great-granddaughters; brother, Glen Hutchison of Rocky Top, Tennessee; and an awesome extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Elmer Hutchison; husband, Ira M. Floyd, Jr.; two brothers; and granddaughter, Marlee Floyd Willingham.

A graveside service officiated by William Henderson for Mrs. Floyd will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, 618 Block, Port Neches. Honoring her as pallbearers are Ronnie Floyd, James Fuller, Jillian Hunt, Jason Hunt, Jackson Hunt, and Hunter Keeley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Billie’s granddaughter, Marlee Floyd Willingham, to the American Cancer Society, 4 Bayoubrandt Drive, Suite B, Beaumont, Texas 77706.
