Calvin Wimer

February 2, 1944 - January 27, 2018

Calvin Bruce Wimer, Sr., 73, of Kountze, died Saturday, January 27, 2018. He was born on February 2, 1944, in Warren, Pennsylvania, to Lois Canfield Wimer and Max Wimer Sr. Calvin was employed by Haliburton for eighteen years, eight of those years were spent overseas in England, Brunei and Singapore. He retired as the owner and operator of Wimer’s Auto and Truck Service in Kountze after thirty-five years.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Jordan-Wimer of Kountze; children, Michelle Boyett and her husband, James and Calvin Wimer, Jr., and his partner, Robert Alston, all from Silsbee; stepchildren, Angella Newsom and her husband Scott, of Nacogdoches, Alicia Taylor and her partner, Mike Pieper, of Lumberton, and Tony Flower, of Kountze; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, John Charles Wimer, Sr., of Kountze; sisters, Gwen Gautrea and her husband, Alvin, of Vidor; and Melissa Loden and her husband Burtis Cartwright, Jr., of Sour Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Mickey Wimer, Jr.

A gathering of Mr. Calvin’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Kountze United Methodist Church, 1015 South Pine Street, Kountze. His committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
