Dennis Allen Bruce, Sr., 82, of Hamshire, died Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas of Beaumont. He was born on November 09, 1934, in Beaumont to Edna Wright Bruce and Allen Bruce. He was a longtime resident of the Hamshire area, and retired from Mobil Chemical as a safety supervisor.
Survivors include daughter, Darla King and her husband, Tony; sons, Skipper Bruce; and Ernie Bruce and his wife, Deana; grandchildren, Jennifer Hughes, Sommer Salamanca, Mark Bruce, Dustin Richard and his wife, Michele; Jessica Pulliam and her husband, Joseph; and Megan Toohey and her husband, Andrew; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Smith; many nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents; and wife of sixty-two years, Boonie Bruce.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hamshire Volunteer Fire Deparment, P.O. Box 153, Hamshire, TX 77622.
Mr. Bruce’s graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Fairview Cemetery, 223 Cemetery Road, Winnie.
