Donnie Wade

January 23, 1950 - October 27, 2018

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Joni and Toni I am so sorry for your loss. My brother has passed and it is so hard losing your sibling. My prayers are with all your family at this time.

Oh Alex this just doesn’t seem fair. My heart is with and is broken for you. You had such an amazing dad. He always made things so much fun growing up whether it was dragging us around in a sleeping bag, crazy driving, happy meals and orange soda in his convertible after a sunny day at the Lamar pool, or teasing us about having a crush on the mythical Blaine. I can still hear him telling me “you don’t know what your missing” when I was being a picky eater and refusing to try maple syrup (one of my favorites at breakfast now). I’m sorry he is gone way too soon but grateful that you, my dear friend, were blessed to call him dad. I love you.

Reconnected with him in Sp Ed. while he,was a speech pathologist. Didn't realise he had Parkinson. He was a super guy and will be greatly missed. Prayers for the whole family.

My heart is so heavy today. The world has lost a great man. The students and staff of Orangefield ISD had the pleasure of this man for at least 10 years as he provided speech therapy services for us. He was so much more than a speech pathologist to us. He was the first to jump in and help when there was a need (cafeteria duty, hall monitor, car duty, etc). He LOVED our students and made sure they knew it. He was a beautiful soul, a beautiful sweet, kind force in this mean world. I am sad to know he has left us, but I have no doubt I will see him again in heaven one day.

My son was one of the many students at OES that Mr. Wade helped. He not only helped my child but he helped me and my husband also. We were just talking about him the other day and what a wonderful man he was. I am so sorry for your loss. The world will be a little less bright without him in it. Prayers.

Donnie Wade is one of the greatest men I’ve ever known. He was genuinely a beautiful soul. My own children adored him and so did my students. His love for his wife was evident and he often talked of my daughter reminding him of his own sweet girl. No doubt he made a difference in many lives! My heart aches at the thought of no longer seeing him for now, yet I am grateful he is no longer in pain. Sending my condolences to the Wade family and leaving you all with one of my favorite Helen Keller verses- "What you have once enjoyed you can never lose...All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."

Josette Choate

Mr. Wade will be dearly missed. He was my rock during the most emotionally challenging times in my life with my hearing impaired son. He gave me the support and tools to help Clayson be the young man he is today. We both love Mr. Wade, and he will forever have a special place in our hearts. We pray for his family’s peace and comfort and appreciate them sharing such a fantastic husband, father and teacher with us.

I really don't know where to begin. Donnie was like a big brother to me. We worked together for a long time in Orangefield, and I can say without reservation that I am a better man/husband/father because my life intersected with Donnie's. He was kind and generous to a fault. I have known few others who were as compassionate and genuine as he was. He radiated pure joy to everyone he came in contact with! Donnie always ended our one-on-one conversations (and we had many) with the words, "You know I love you, man." I knew he meant it every word! He always spoke glowingly about the loves of his life, Margaret and daughter, Alexandra. I've always believed you could tell a lot about a man's heart by the way he spoke about his wife and children. Donnie loved them and everyone else with all of his heart. There's no doubt that Donnie left this world in better shape than he found it! Rest in peace, my dear friend!
