Elliot Douglas Buffington

Elliot Douglas Buffington, 72, of Comfort, died Thursday, March 2, 2017.  He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Ethel Mae Prichett Buffington and James Buffington.  Elliot proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam and Korean and later worked as a diesel mechanic.

Survivors include his daughter, Lori Thompson and her husband, Larry; sons, James Buffington and his wife, Ruby, and Charles Buffington, all of Votaw; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Sanders of California, and Joan Warren of Missouri; and a host of nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings.

A gathering of Mr. Buffington’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2017, at Votaw Worship Center, 3160 FM 2798 Road, Votaw.  His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Votaw Worship Center, with is interment to follow at Votaw Cemetery, Votaw.
