Dionne, Ellis James – 8/12/1952 – 3/25/2018

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Ellis Dionne who passed suddenly in the early morning hours on March 25th 2018, at the age of 65.

Ellis was an avid outdoorsman who spent many hours with friends and family hunting at the deer lease or fishing in many Texas waterways. He was a proficient hunter with all manners of firearms and bows, an avid reader, a track star in high school, and he loved crossword puzzles. His careers included shrimp boat hand, pipe fitter, roofer, refinery hand, and hazardous waste disposal.

Ellis was beloved and will be missed by many. He was married to Luzena Dionne on December 17, 1982, and was father to Russell Myles Irving (Nicole), William Mark Irving (Lauren), Roger Simrau Dionne (Tara), Heather Michelle Dionne, Rebecca Elizabeth Dionne (Thomas), and grandfather to Daphanie, Trinity, Kaley, Ellis, Carolann, Alexis, Leeland, Roger, Ella, Gryphon, Faith, Gavin, and Oliver. He is also survived by his mother Donna Simrau Dionne brother Roger Dionne and neice Jamie Dionne, father-in-law William Jannise, sister-in-law Diana McCullough, nephews Truxton McCullough (Kim), Joshua McCullough (Emily), Joseph McCullough (Traci), Dannis McCullough (Emily), and great neices and nephews Grace, Kolin, Hannah, Luke, Jenna, Abigail, Billy, Brooke, Cadence, Kerrigan, Landon, and Brandt, Jasper, and June.

He was preceded in death by his father Russell Dionne, sister Hazel Dionne, granddaughter Novalee, brother-in-law Frank McCullough, and great nephew Alexander.

A gathering of Mr. Dionne’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2018, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake.
