Emily Schowe-Fisher, 63, of Beaumont, died August 19, 2020 at home after courageously fighting metastatic breast cancer for the past 18 months. Emily was born in Ogden, Utah, to Rudolph and Beverly Schowe, on October 5, 1956 and her family soon returned to Berger, Missouri, where she spent her childhood and teenage years. Emily enlisted in the US Army in August of 1975 and was honorably discharged in August of 1978. She graduated from the very first “co-ed” class of basic training recruits of the US Army, at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Emily eventually moved to Twin Falls, Idaho after her military service, where she gave birth to her most precious child, Sondra Renee Hernandez, who survives her. She later moved to Beaumont, Texas where she married her husband of 18 years, Ernie Fisher, who also survives her.

Emily is also survived by a sister, Stacy Garza (husband, Lewis and children, Esther and Isaiah) all of Georgetown, Texas. Emily is also survived by her brother, Jeff Schowe (wife, Gina) of Lenoir, North Carolina.

Emily was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Schowe, her mother, Beverly Bowers, and a nephew, Austin Schowe.

Emily loved spending time with her family and extended group of friends, especially during the fall holidays. From Thanksgiving through Easter, her house was always meticulously decorated with various ornamental items depicting the holidays, many of which she created herself. She loved spending time outdoors at the beach, the lakes, or deer camp.

Deb met Emily when she lived in Twin Falls. Sondra was just a little itty bitty thing. Emily had the heart the size of Texas, the grit of a pitbull and the soul of a saint. She was a shining star that left us too quickly. She would do anything for anyone. She told it how it was and that was her best quality. You always knew where you stood with Emily. I hope that she is shining down on us and keeping us all safe. She will be missed. We love you, Emily and we cannot wait to see you again.

My heartfelt condolences to you Sondra and Ernie. My heart is broken to hear this about my sweet friend Emily aka M. I will miss our many conversations of what Sondra was up to and everything about the Rockets. I also will miss the delicious chocolate covered peanut candy she would always bring to the office every Christmas. Most of all I will miss that incredible zest for life that you embodied. RIP my fiend M.
