Esther “E.T.” Tanner

September 8, 1939 - August 28, 2018

Esther Jean “E.T.” Tanner, 78, of Beaumont, passed from this life to eternal rest Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Spring Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation, Beaumont. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on September 8, 1939, to Genetta Ener and James Samuel Branham. E.T. retired as a License Vocational Nurse from Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth and Beaumont Medical and Surgical Hospital, now Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont, after many years of employment.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Tanner and his wife, Joyce Hodge-Tanner, of Vidor and Randy Tanner, of Beaumont; brothers, James Branham and his wife, Ruby, of Baytown and Eldon Branham, of Houston; sister, Martha Lou Huffman, of Indiana; grandchildren, William S. Tanner and his wife, Bethany, of China and Lindsay Tanner, of Lumberton; and great-grandchildren, Elijah Tanner, Josiah Tanner, and Moriah Tanner, all of China.

E.T. is preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Thomas; her parents, Genetta and James Branham; and grandson, Justin M. Tanner.

A gathering of Ms. Tanner’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2018, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
