Frances Wilson

February 9, 1926 - November 10, 2018

Frances Wilson, 92, of Port Arthur, died Saturday, November 10, 2018. She was born on February 9, 1926, in Bossier City, Louisiana, to Eunice Black Wilson and Alvin Whitney Wilson.

Frances was a teacher and guidance counselor at Sulphur High School in Sulphur, Louisiana till her retirement in 1978. She was a lifetime member and avid supporter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, as well as a prominent member and woman’s Sunday school teacher at Triangle Baptist Church in Nederland, Texas. She spent most of her time reading her Bible and suspense novels. In her younger years she often traveled, taking family members along on trips. She was known for her devout faith in God and her loving nurturing generosity.

Frances is survived by multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was loved and will be missed by them all. 

A gathering of Ms. Wilson’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2018, at Broussard’s, Nederland. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, 60455 Bayou Jacob Road, Plaquemine, Louisiana.
