Janet Gibson

Janet Gibson, 80, of Village Mills, died Saturday, June 17, 2017. She was born on March 31, 1937, in Widen, West Virginia, to Lavaughn Hickman and Charles Cebert Bowling.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-four years, Willie Joe Gibson; son, Michael Murray Gibson and his wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Karey Lynn DeVries and her husband, Jason and Kevin Charles Gibson; and great-grandchildren, Aidan Michael DeVries, Evan Matthew Gibson, Preslie Alyse Gibson, and Parker Andrew Gibson, all of Santa Fe; sister, Charlotte Woodrow of Boonsboro, Maryland; brother, Hal Bowling of Granville, Ohio; six nieces and two nephews; and sister-in-law, Martha Mills of Friendswood.

Janet is preceded in death by her siblings, Murray Bowling and Garnet Couk; and her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Gibson’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Wildwood-Village Mills United Methodist Church, 5943 FM 3063, Village Mills. Her interment will follow at Village Mills Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze
