Joe Hooks

Joe Edward Hooks, 81, of Nederland, died Thursday, December 19, 2019. He was born on April 13, 1938, in Bleakwood, to Pauline Herrin Hooks and Allen Hooks. Joe enjoyed fishing; hunting; camping; painting; gardening; and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hooks, of Nederland; daughters, Terri Robison and her husband, Donis, of Kountze; Cindy Summers, of Nederland; and Lisa Stevens and her husband, Joseph, of Brookeland; grandchildren, Eric Bergeron and his wife, Dustie; Macey Robison and his wife, Lacy; Misty Burris and her husband, Jay; and Cassandra Young and her husband, Blake; great-grandchildren; Lauren Bergeron; Caden Bergeron, Jaycie Burris; Kynzlee Young; Brayden Young; Harley Moody; and Paul Mata; sister, Saundra Hillman Wallace and her husband, Larry; and brothers, Noner Day Hooks, Timmy Hooks, and Lynn Hooks.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William “Bill” Hooks, Claude Hooks, and Joe Allen Hooks.

A gathering of Mr. Hooks’ family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
