Jolois F. Ewing

Jolois F. Ewing, 95, of Vidor, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on April 17, 1922, to Lois Cruse Fuqua and Joseph G. Fuqua, in Sour Lake. Jolois was one of the first members of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. She was very active in her church including leading the Thursday morning Bible Study and was a founding member of the Friday Morning Ministry. Her community service included Some Other Place and Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include her daughters, Janet Cotton of Bogart, Georgia; Betsy Hanchey and her husband, Ted, of Vidor; and Carol Boyer and her husband, Mike, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Carole Wheeler; Mike Cotton; Jay Cotton and his wife, Eleanor; Bill Cotton and his wife, Rene; Marc Mauboules and his wife, Christy; Stephanie Hanchey; Ronnie Sciarrilla and his wife, Jill; Shannon Miller; and Stefanie Boyer; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jay E. Ewing and brother, William Cruse Fuqua.
A funeral service for Jolois Ewing will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with a reception to follow in the Cloister room at St. Mark’s. A private family graveside will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
