Judge John P. McAdams

August 7, 1934 - February 3, 2017

Judge John P. McAdams, 82, of Stowell, died February 3, 2017. He was born on August 7, 1934, to Rever Starns McAdams and John P. McAdams, Sr., in in Hobby, Texas.

Judge McAdams was the Justice of The Peace for Precinct 1 in Chambers County for twenty-five years. He managed two large cattle ranches in Stowell. Judge McAdams was also the owner and operator of Phillips Bulk Station, salesman for Allis Chalmers tractors, and managed Chambers County Rice Dryer. He was also a vice-president and loan officer for Gulf Coast Bank specializing in livestock and agriculture.

Survivors include his wife, LeBland McAdams of Stowell; sister, Doris Spencer and husband, Ronald, of Winnie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald McAdams and Edgar McAdams; and sisters, Lois Graham and Rosie Stifflemire.

A gathering of Judge McAdams’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Broussard’s, with his interment following at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
