Robert Leroy "Honey" Fagg

May 27, 1950 - December 29, 2020

Robert Leroy “Honey” Fagg, 70, of Kountze, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born May 27, 1950, in Beaumont, to Georgia Perry Fagg and Marion Wells Fagg Sr.

Leroy was a Veteran of the United States Navy and loved sporting his Navy cap or his American Flag tie. He was a patriot through and through. Leroy loved music and performing, whether it was at home for himself, a family gathering, or in public. He was an enthusiastic percussionist. You could often find him on the weekends playing at various places either with his band, or as a call up guest for other bands. His love of music had no boundaries, and his generosity was not saved for his hometown band. He donated to many local high school band programs. During football season he was sitting in the stands cheering the loudest for Kountze High School’s King’s Regiment.

Honey, as he was lovingly referred to, loved our Lord, his wife Theresa, his daughters, Celena and Rachel, his grandchildren, family, and friends. He was a solid rock in every relationship he formed. He was a wonderful provider, husband, father, son, uncle, brother, friend, and faith-filled man of God. All who came into his life stopped being a friend and immediately became family. He never met a stranger. Leroy loved with his whole heart and unconditionally. He was kind, compassionate, gracious, funny and entertaining. There was never a dull moment with him around and a good time was to be had by all. Leroy had such a positive upbeat energy, he brought happiness to any room he entered. Our lives will never be the same, and he will be missed terribly.

Left to cherish his memory are his best friend and soulmate of 46 years, Theresa Fagg; children, Celena Ueckert and her husband, Dean and Rachel Mills and her husband, Josh, all of Kountze; grandchildren, Kaylee Dominy and her husband, Kevin, of Beaumont, Aubrey Ueckert, Shawn Mills, and Adelyn Ueckert; siblings, Larry Fagg and his wife, Linda and Mickey Fagg, all of Beaumont; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leroy is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wells Fagg Jr; sister, Pauline Warren; in-laws, J.D. and Brucelle Foret; and godson, Jacob Langston.

A gathering of Mr. Fagg’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with his Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2021, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton, with his interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kountze High School’s King’s Regiment Band under the direction of Brad Long, PO Box 480, Kountze, Texas 77625 or to any local music program of your choice.

A fine man. RIP leroy

Mike Sheffield

I’ve known Leroy for more than a quarter century and often consulted with him regarding the steel industry as part of my life as an engineer. But my relationship with Leroy went beyond business. I consider him a dear friend. I’ll miss our lunches catching up with one another. My life is better from knowing him.

Becky Dolan

My thoughts and prayers are with Leroy's family, friends and colleagues.

Without a doubt, heaven added a great member to the band! If I had to guess, you’ve got a conga beat going like non other up there. I can honestly say our community / world was a much better place with Leroy Fagg in it! You were a creature of habit. Just as I knew your weekly schedule, I also knew I could count on you for anything I needed. You genuinely had a desire to help others. Your personality was contagious. I’ll forever remember our 5:30 am daily lessons on life. You were truly one of the best guys I knew. You are deeply missed my friend. Mrs. Fagg - I am deeply saddened by the news of your loss. Mr. Leroy loved you fiercely! I pray that God will grant you the strength you need. My most sincere condolences

Few people in this world are the kind that can touch your heart and you know that they’re just sincerely good people, Leroy was one of those people! He had an infectious personality and a wonderful smile, and everyone he came in contact with never forgot him. From back in the days in high school till we ended up working together years and years later, I’ve always treasured his friendship. He never met a stranger and he always went out of his way to make everybody feel welcome or feel special.! I can honestly say that I was truly, deeply proud to call him my friend. I remember the one of the last times I saw him at MacKenzie’s Pub, I hear somebody yell “BEAUTY QUEEN” from across the room and I knew instantly it was my buddy! That’s what he always called me and I will always remember and treasure that the rest of my days. Rest in peace sweet friend and I know the heavens will be rocking with your bongo drums. Until we meet again, I love you and I know that when we see each other again, it’ll be for eternity!! Rock on my friend!

A true warm comrad for our morning gym ritual. You always knew when Leroy was nearby because you could count on hearing him before you ever saw him. And that's a good thing! I was already preparing for the, "Where you been?" at 5:30 in the morning next week when I returned from a 2 month hiatus from the gym. Leroy we will surely miss you, but never forget those morning conversations and breakfasts.

N. E. Martin

Brother-in-law we.veall been friends for close to 40 years, you are loved by all who knew you. Rest in the loving arms of Jesus.

Bart Thomasson

I knew Leroy for close to 10 years and have played in a dozen golf tournaments with him and there was never a dull moment. We rode together most of the time and there was never much time that passed without us picking on one another I can assure you of that. We picked on each other constantly about everything you could imagine, a good bit of which I probably shouldn't say here, but without a doubt it was easy to tell he cherished his family, especially his grandkids and the USA. I'll miss the banter and laughter we shared. RIP Leroy, you'll be missed but never forgotten.

Rainy Kimbrough

A world without Leroy in it is a little less joyful. He was such a sincerely nice man who made all who knew him feel loved. He lived his life as we all should. He adored his wife and family and was an amazing, loving, generous, supportive friend. He was also a great musician and the biggest supporter of live music I’ve ever known. He will be remembered lovingly.

James Carpenter

Saddened by the loss of a wonderful guy. Leroy and I go back to 1971 when he was working at Tri-Supply and I was tending bar at the Foxy Lady. He played drums there to the latest hits on the juke box. Leroy always had a smile and loved to kid around. My condolences to the family. I know that he is enjoying a peace that we can all look forward to.

Kirk Barnes

I first met Leroy when I was working for Dollinger Steel, way back when. He has always been a friend and helpful, any time I needed advice on a project. He will be sorely missed.

Jerry Hawthorne

I will miss Leroy deeply. When The Jerryatricks would set up to play music for the evening he would always come over and talk to me for a few minutes. I enjoyed that time. His personality drew people to him. Everyone I knew sincerely loved him. Our prayer is that you’re blessed with the strength you need at this time. Heaven has a new musician to add to the band.

Bonnie Vessel

Bob Smith

Leroy was a huge personality, you could not miss him. If he was in the room, you knew it. He loved and really had a heart for people and would draw them close, making them feel liked and accepted. He was, as his obituary said, unconditional in his love and affection for people. Everything he was involved in was a social event; golf tournaments, lunches, visits to your workplace, the gym, and he interacted he will be keenly missed. I was stunned by his passing; so sudden, from a healthy, boisterous, loving guy, to on to be with the Lord. As I am sure is true for many, I would have loved to have talked to him and teased him one more time. My thoughts and prayers are with Theresa and his family as they grow to accept his absence from their daily lives. May they take comfort in how much he loved and cherished them, as he told me on numerous occasions. I will miss my fried Leroy.

After watching the keepsake video I had to think, What a life well spent Leroy got it all. He was a light in the room. He was a catalyst for love and friendship everywhere he went. When we would get to visit I would leave there thinking, I want more of what Leroy has.. I will miss your big friendly voice and your big genuine style Leroy. Go curl up in God's lap and rest in peace my friend.

Theresa, you and the family have my heart felt condolences and are in my prayers. Leroy was the type of person that I aspire to be. You didn't have to ask Leroy if he was a christian. You knew it by the way he lived his life and the way he treated people. He truly loved his neighbor! He never met a stranger and made everyone feel special. The world needs more Leroy's and I consider myself lucky for having known him and being a friend. I will truly miss him.

Theresa, I'm so sorry for your loss. I have known Leroy since I started in the business, Leroy was a great friend and mentor. He helped me and my family in many ways. Leroy and Theresa have always been a big part of the RIG foundation Bass Tournament and Golf Tournament. He was more than just a sponsor, He was the auctioneer, for the live auction, and the first one to lend a hand when something needed to be done. I had the pleasure to work with Leroy and Larco over the past 15 years; from the first day I met him, it was an instant connection. From work, life and marriage advice, Leroy always had great insight and pretty much shared it without me having to ask. Fortunately I was able to share a lunch with him this past October, miss him already. Many prayers and much loved to his family; Leroy was an exceptional person and always brought a cool vibe into everywhere he went.
