Nancy Allen

August 22, 1931 - January 28, 2018

Nancy White Allen, 86, of Beaumont, died Sunday, January 28, 2018. She was born on August 22, 1931, in Venus, to Clara Patterson and Ray White, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont. Nancy retired from Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School as a P.E. coach. She was a faithful longtime member of Forest Park United Methodist Church, Beaumont.

She is survived by her daughters, Danna Henry and her husband, Gaile, of Beaumont and Sondra Brashear and her husband, Bruce, of Lumberton; son, Ray Allen and his wife, Sonia, of Brookshire; grandchildren, Traci Gates and her husband, Casey; Emily Brashear; Natalie Brashear; Ray Allen III; and Courtney Allen; great-grandchildren, Carson Gates an Colten Gates; sister, Judy Baird; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Allen, Sr.; parents; brothers, Ray “Sonny” White, Jr. and Glen “Honey” White; and sister, Patsy Dees.

A gathering of Mrs. Allen’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.

Dear Ray, Sonia, Sondra, Danna and Family, We are so sorry for your loss and know that we will be praying for you during these most difficult days and the days ahead. I was one of Ms. Allen athlete from the class of 81 and have so many wonderful memories of her during that time in my life.. Many volleyball and basketball tournaments and track meets were spent with her. Heaven has gained an amazing lady !! May she rest in peace ! love you all!

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was an amazing coach, teacher and mentor. She will be missed. As one of her former volleyball players I still remember her telling us "Square your body to the net!"
