Nelson Sherwood, Jr.

Nelson McCallum Sherwood, Jr., 73, of Lumberton, died Sunday, October 27, 2019, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on March 29, 1946, to Kathleen Williams Sherwood and Nelson McCallum Sherwood, in Port Arthur. Nelson was a United States Navy veteran having served in Vietnam and retired as a Merchant Marine after 30 years.

Survivors include his son, Nelson Sherwood III of Lumberton; daughter, Amanda Beechler and her husband, Drew, of Severn, Maryland; sisters, Janet Sherwood and Selia Sherwood, both of California; brother, Edwin Sherwood and his wife, Mary Francis, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sister, Mary Sherwood and her husband, Ron George, of Corpus Christi; and brother, John Sherwood of Austin.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
