Oscar Talmadge Goines

Oscar Talmadge Goines, 90, of Beaumont, died Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation, Beaumont. He was born on September 26, 1928, to Nellie Iona Langford Goines and Oscar Vernon Goines, in Gilmer. Oscar was a Physics Professor at Lamar for thirty-three years.

Survivors include his daughter, Julia Winger; son, Lyle Goines and his wife, Tammy; and granddaughter, Regina Winger, all of Beaumont; grandson, Micah Goines of Starkville, Mississippi; granddaughter, Hannah Goines Baldwin and her husband, Ben, of Beaumont; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Mr. Goines’ family and friends will be from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
