Pamela Penry

November 3, 1949 - March 14, 2018

It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Pamela Marie (Ortego) Penry announces her recent passing after losing her hard-fought battle with cancer on March 14, 2018. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, Godmother and friend to all who knew her. Her laughter and smile could light up a room. She was a native of La Belle, Texas for most of her life. Pam loved gardening and visiting the casino. In her younger years, she met the love if her life Tommie doing what she loved which was skating. Her life was surrounded by those that loved her and her love for her children and grandchildren could not be surpassed. She will leave a huge whole in many hearts….she will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her son, Wally Penry and his wife, Aarin, of Lumberton; daughter, D’Anna Penry Hooks and her husband, Toby, of Krotz Springs, Louisiana; brother, Ronnie Ortego and his wife, Suzie, of LaBelle; sister, Marietta Ortego Frugé of Eunice, Louisiana; grandchildren, Kadence Penry, Kamie Bertrand, Kyndal Chatagnier, Christian Chatagnier, and Ali Hooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Tommie Penry.

A gathering of Mrs. Penry’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with her memorial service to follow at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
