Roy Carson Martin

April 21, 1983 - May 27, 2019

Roy Carson Martin, 36, of Bevil Oaks, died Monday, May 27, 2019. He was born on April 21, 1983, to Molly Smith Martin and Roy Carson Martin.

Roy will be dearly missed as a loving husband, devoted father, and proud “Pop Pop”. Roy was his family’s Super hero. They often say that Roy could do anything! When called upon by someone with a need, he dropped everything to help, fix or conquer the task…and he loved being that guy and wanted nothing in return. Roy’s endless energy, love for life and his readiness for the next adventure made all of our lives richer. Roy will forever be remembered by all of us, as he lives on in our hearts and our many fond memories with him.

Survivors include his wife, Kelly Drinkard Martin; daughter, Kristian Puckett and her husband, Derek, of Kountze; sons, Drake Mercer and Carson Martin, both of Bevil Oaks; parents, Roy Carson Martin and Molly Petty and her husband, Ricky, of Center; sisters, Brandy Amador and Catherine Pelton, both of Center; grandchildren, Hank Puckett of Kountze; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Mr. Martin’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Praise Church Building Fund “Major Move”, 8150 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77713.

Roy was always very kind to us. We will always remember him as a very intelligent young man. We know he helped many people in need. He loved his family as shown by his actions. We are so, so sorry for all the family. Prayers for all the grief and sadness to will eventually turn into precious memories of Roy.

Finding kind words to describe our greatly loved Roy come effortlessly: Generous, gracious, selfless, talented, and so many more, including full-of-life. What an understatement...but it seemingly never was about him. It was always about the laundry list of words he thrived to fill others lives with; joy & happiness, appreciation & respect, positive perspective & how to be your brother's keeper. Roy, we are all better people for having been blessed with your presence. We love you, Brother. God bless, until we then... Sympathetically, Brad & Annette Arms

Roy worked with my son Tim in Baytown for 2 years and he loved Roy so much he invited him to our home in Fannett. He was such a great person and told so many fishing stories we all were in awe of him. He took my son out night fishing last year and Tim had the time of his life. We are so honored to have met this incredible man. Our hearts are so saddened of this precious life cut short. Our heart and prayers are with all of the family.

Sincere condolences to Kelly and her family, to sister Molly and family and to all who knew Roy. Roy was the most gentile man I had ever known. He was kind and soft spoken and I've never heard an angry word or unkind word from his lips. Roy, I hope you and dad will find a great fishing hole in heaven. I know dad would enjoy your company until we all can be together again. I will love you always my dear nephew. RIP
