Ruth Wiggins

October 25, 1924 - December 17, 2018

Ruth Mae Wiggins, 94, of Silsbee, died Monday, December 17, 2018, at Silsbee Convalescent Center, Silsbee. She was born on October 25, 1924, in Silsbee, to Annie Lou Parker Spurlock and William Lee Spurlock.

Survivors include her daughters, Jeane McKinley and her husband, Harvey, of Post Falls, Idaho; Kaye McElroy and her husband, Jerry, of Ocala, Florida; Joy Hayes and her husband, Daniel, of Jacksonville, Arkansas; Alice Quillen and her husband, Richard, of Silsbee; Karen Wriser and her husband, Glenn, of Angleton; and Robbie McMullen and her late husband, Dale, Silsbee; sisters, Billie Gibson and Betty Stringer, both of Silsbee; and brother, Wayne Spurlock of Brenham; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reverend Jasper Franklin Wiggins; daughter, Patricia Ann Maddox; sisters, Erma Strother and Judy McIntyre; brother, Woody Spurlock; and great-grandson, Trenton Bass.

A gathering of Mrs. Wiggins’ family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2018, at First Pentecostal Church, 1420 North 5th Street, Silsbee. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the church, with interment to follow at Cunningham Cemetery, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
